James Bond DVD - Goldeneye
As far as James Bond Dvd goes, I have to say that although not my favourite James Bond DVD of the James Bond Dvd Collection, Goldeneye with Pierce Brosnan is excellent.
In the film Brosnan makes his debut as James Bond in a film in which Goldeneye isn’t actually based upon one of Ian Fleming’s original novels. It had many firsts this film including the first James Bond film to actually come out on DVD. The plot of the film is a nuclear weapon that has been stolen and it is up to Bond to find it. You have to say that the opening sequence is nothing short of stunning when it comes to James bond stunts with the bungee jump! Some very familiar faces appear in the film such as Sean Bean and Judi Dench making her debut as the female M.
One of my favourite action sequences has to be the when Brosnan is in the tank and he really does look like the James Bond ultimate. Tina Turner providing the vocals to the theme tune as well, I almost forgot. An excellent James Bond DVD film.
James Bond DVD Collection - Casino Royale
The James Bond Dvd, Casino Royale brings a new grittier type of James Bond onto this James Bond DVD in an emphatic way. As the cold war has ended, in which quite a large chunk of the James Bond films are based on, so has the James Bond character had to change along with it. Indeed Daniel Craig is the James Bond ultimate and spends a lot of time in the film flexing his muscular physique in fending off the badies in all the action scenes that there are in the film. In fact Daniel Craig in this film was 38 when he took on the role which makes him one of the younger actors who have taken on the role as James Bond in the James Bond collection.
Then of course the winning formula of all James Bond films the Bond girl and in this film this role is filled by Eva Green who does a wonderful job in the James Bond DVD, even putting 007 in his place at times. In this film Bond relies on thinking round the scenario more rather than just always using brute force in which to be successful in his mission.
The fact that this film can now be purchased on Blu Ray instead of on a James Bond DVD means that the technical quality of the film is excellent.
James Bond DVD - New And Improved
James Bond Collection - Quantum Of Solace
After much awaiting the new James Bond Dvd, ever since the success of Casino Royale, I was finally able to watch Daniel Craig, the James Bond ultimate in his new film in the latest in the James Bond collection of films. Ever since the success of Casino Royale, I don’t think a Bond movie has had as high expectations and will add to the James Bond boxset of great films. The plot is basically, where James Bond meets girl, girl tries to kill Bond, and both ultimately end up in the same team. Usually the same as what you would expect on most James Bond DVDs. The villain is called Dominic Greene. His main objective is to take control of a country’s water supply in South America, which is what Bond tries to stop through a global hunt. However really James Bond is seeking revenge from the tragedy in the previous film.
I would say in this James Bond DVD that there is a little bit too much action in it, and makes the Bourne films look fairly tame! So much action that almost every scene ends up with someone being killed, or something in that direction. It’s not bad, but a little disappointing.
Performance wise it was as good as usual and what you would expect. The James Bond girl delivers and so does the villain, Mathieu Amalric, I can now understand why they didn’t need any scars or something of that sort to make him bad, because he is incredibly creepy as it is. However he didn’t really have enough darkness as much as a usual James Bond baddy would.
It was refreshing to see Judi Dench as always, you can see she really enjoys her part, and Daniel Craig as well, who played a meaner, more straight forward James Bond ultimate.
Overall it is an entertaining film, but not as good as Casino Royale, but very close. Another good addition to the James Bond Dvd Boxset.
James Bond DVD - Which one is the best?
Which James Bond Dvd is the best? Well in my other post I discussed who I thought was the best James Bond, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I think that a Sean Connery film should therefore have the James Bond ultimate film.
No I have to say I prefer the blockbuster films the best with Daniel Craig. I suppose you move with the times and his 2 films are the 2 which I would prefer to watch after a lond hard day at work and I wanted to wind down after a hard day at work. Probably just to let out a bit of steam! Everyone is entitled to their opinion though and I suppose you can watch through the entire James Bond collection at your leisure.
Just think though if you had a younger Sean Connery playing the role now in the films Daniel Craig has starred in, well then you really would have the James Bond ultimate!
James Bond DVD Collection - Who Is The Best?
Seab Connery was he the best James Bond? Well this is always the debate when it comes to James Bond Dvd films. He was the 1st official James Bond and appeared in 7 films which were; Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You only Live Twice, Diamonds are Forever, Never Say Never Again. I just love to watch all these James Bond films on my James Bond Dvd Boxset. My wife absolutely hates me watching the James Bond collection again and again.
You could argue the more recent James Bond DVDs have had bigger budgets into which to play the role. Sean Connery had both the physical attributes in which to play the role together with the suave demeaner in which to play the role Ian Flemming the writer would have wanted.
Comparisons With James Bond New Ones
There are the other actors who have played the role such as Moore, Brosnan and Craig, but every woman wanted to be loved by Connery and every man wanted to be him, as he was the James Bond ultimate.
You could argue that Moore took the role too light hearted at times, whilst the more recent actors Brosnan and Craig rely on the more blockbuster surroundings and special effects. This can be seen when you watch the entire James Bond collection
I suppose Sean Connery’s number 1 film as James Bond will always be Dr No as this was his first and he even went back to return doing Never Say Never again 20 years on from the very first James Bond that he did.
Conclusion of all the James Bond Figures
Sean Connery was just a class act at playing the role and is definitely and without doubt the James Bond ultimate.
